Siege of Orgrimmar: Disco Style Pt2

Tips: It has been a few months since we hit the streets of Orgrimmar and it is a bit overdue but here is part 2 of my Discipline Priest’s Guide to healing 10 man Siege of Orgrimmar (see here for Pt1). Galakras: I tend to run  Twist of Fate because of the number of adds to smite means a lot of time in the buff zone and Halo because the…

Siege of Orgrimmar: Disco Style Pt1

Tips: It has been a few months since we hit the streets of Orgrimmar and it is a bit overdue but here is part 1 of my four part Discipline Priest’s Guide to healing 10 man Siege of Orgrimmar. Immerseus: Surprisingly this is a lot more disc friendly than I and many others anticipated. Due to the size of the room we 3 heal this fight which also helps deal…

How I Build a Raid Team?

Putting together a raid team is no easy task, the first thing to decide is not who are your tanks, healers and DPS, but rather how many of each you want to carry. My 10 man raid team has 3 tanks, 3 healers, 3 mêlée, 3 ranged and 3 off-healers that was an “easy” choice, knowing who to fill those roles with was not so easy as there are a…

The Sin Bin

Been thinking about the issues I have seen in LFR recently, like people beating on General Nazgrim in defensive stance, and I wonder if Blizzard could implement a sin bin type effect for players that spend more than a few seconds doing the wrong thing so that the offender gets teleported out of the fight area and made to watch an in-game cinematic explaining that doing the “wrong thing” is…

Patch 5.4 One Month On

It has now been a month since we got 5.4 which brought us the Siege of Orgrimmar and the Timeless Isle, so I thought it was a good time to review the patch. The Timeless Isle has proved to be anything but Timeless, people are now avoiding the place like the plague now they have geared up all their alts, got a gazillion Timeless Coins and nobody wants to kill…

Where I’m at What I’m Grinding III

While I may have been slack lately here on the blog the same hasn’t been true in real life or in game. My guild, have been trying all expansion to set up an RBG team and I had been resisting the urge to join in. Partly because I got my hands full with raiding but mostly because I’ve never been a big PVPer (or particularly good at it). I have…

So Tired I Will Rest For Just a Moment

Man I have been busy the past few weeks. This sadly has had a negative impact on my blogging. Firstly real life has bitten my ass big time. I work in a team of two, my shift partner recently got the sack which means my employers need to find a replacement and don’t have the usual 4 weeks notice to soften the blow on those left behind. This means that…

Horridon Healing Hell: Update

Just spotted a hotfix blog entry from Blizzard made on the day that I published my whinge at the horrors of healing on Horridon post that has nerfed the encounter a bit more for us 10 man raid teams. Horridon Reduced the health of Farraki Wastewalkers, Gurubashi Venom priests, Drakkari Frozen Warlords, and Amani Warbears in the Horridon encounter by 15% in 10-player Normal difficulty. Drakkari Frozen Warlord now deals less damage…

Horridon Healing Hell

My raid team is 15 people and we run an odd system of “pods” so we have 3 tanks, 3 pure healers, 3 off healers, 3 melee DPS and 3 ranged DPS and rotate people in these pods based on their availability rather than a strict rotation and I’m actually an “off healer” but as my raid team runs with some good DPS, that enables us to run with 3…

Project Titan Update: Illogical Actions

Back in October 2012, I set up a plan to attain the Herald of the Titans, Feat of Strength. This involved setting up home on a new server (Defias Brotherhood) with my Horde charcters, rolling a new priest and setting up a new guild, including a new website. Thankfully I was able to recruit some friends from Exhumed, and through the realm forums and some advertising on the Rawrcast and…
