Clarity of Power Openers
Because of Shadow Orbs there are 3 openers. The goal is to start with 5 orbs to get the best opener. However, there will be times when you fail to get 5 orbs and you need to adapt the opener based on the 6 possible orb counts. Lets look at the perfect scenario of 5 orbs:
- Draenic Intellect Potion and pre-cast Mind Spike when the pull timer is on 2;
- Devouring Plague which takes you to 2 Shadow Orbs;
- Mind Blast so we get that 3rd Shadow Orb;
- Shadowfiend for the DPS and the Multistrike buff if you have 4 piece T18;
- Cast Halo/Cascade unless adds will spawn while its on CD and then you should use Mind Spike;
- Devouring Plague which uses all 3 remaining Shadow Orbs;
- Mind Blast;
- Mind Flay but only 2 ticks;
- Mind Spike as Devouring Plague will have dropped off at the end of the cast;
Then use the default rotation of Mind Blast and 3 fillers until you have 3 Shadow Orbs. As we can’t always have 5 orbs, the worst case scenario is when you have less than 2 orbs. The opener for this is:
- Draenic Intellect Potion and pre-cast Mind Spike when the pull timer is on 2;
- Mind Blast;Shadowfiend;
- Halo/Cascade unless adds will spawn while its on CD and then you should use Mind Spike;
- Mind Spike;
- Mind Blast;
Then use the default rotation of Mind Blast and 3 fillers until you have 3 Shadow Orbs. Lastly is the situation where you come in with 3 or 4 orbs:
- Draenic Intellect Potion and pre-cast Mind Spike when the pull timer is on 2;
- Devouring Plague which takes you to 0 or 1 Shadow Orbs;
- Mind Blast
- Shadowfiend;
- Cast Halo/Cascade unless adds will spawn while its on CD and then you should use Mind Spike;
- Then use the default rotation of Mind Blast and 3 fillers until you have 3 Shadow Orbs.
